Planting a New Lawn or Garden

      Spring has sprung!

When considering your flower or vegetable garden planting, or what to do about those pesky weeds in your lawn, you may want to consider sheet mulching.

You can use spare cardboard or buy it in sheets to garden right on top of an old lawn area, or to start your lawn fresh from seed.

Here's a video from University of CA Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners about how they used cardboard to avoid the conventional laborious process of breaking sod and tilling.

You can read more about the process here from our colleagues at the Marin Municipal Water District.
