Water Main Replacement Project
Pennsylvania Avenue, Irwin Borough
The Municipal Authority of Westmoreland County (MAWC) proposes to replace approximately 5,000 feet of existing 6-inch and 8-inch cast iron and cement water mains with an equivalent length of 8-inch C900 CL235 PVC pipe along Pennsylvania Avenue in Irwin Borough, Westmoreland County. The estimated total project cost is $3,005,000. MAWC’s 2016 Bond Issue will be the funding source for this project. Pipe installation will be subject to public bid. MAWC will utilize additional outside contractors under existing annual contracts to perform trench restoration, sidewalk and curb replacement and milling and overlay if required.
60% installed Main line installed past Walnut Street. Main line construction estimated to be completed mid-February. Service replacement to begin the week of January 29th , with completion in the spring
