      Project - Pennsylvania Avenue, Irwin

      Water Main Replacement Project
      Pennsylvania Avenue, Irwin Borough
      The Municipal Authority of Westmoreland County (MAWC) proposes to replace approximately 5,000 feet of existing 6-inch and 8-inch cast iron and cement water mains with an equivalent length of 8-inch C900 CL235 PVC pipe along Pennsylvania Avenue in Irwin Borough, Westmoreland County. The estimated total project cost is $3,005,000. MAWC’s 2016 Bond Issue will be the funding source for this project. Pipe installation will be subject to public bid. MAWC will utilize additional outside contractors under existing annual contracts to perform trench restoration, sidewalk and curb replacement and milling and overlay if required.

       

      Project underway 11/13/2017 to date 100% installed Main line is installed and tested.

      MAWC crews continue to work at system tie-ins and service change overs with that work 70% complete. Project is currently on schedule with a April completion and road restoration in the spring
